Rose Byrne in Talks for Warner Bros.’ ‘This Is Where I Leave You,’ Universal’s ‘Townies’ (Exclusive)

Rose Byrne is doubling down on two major movies.

The former actress is in negotiations to join the ensemble cast of Shawn Levy’s adaptation of Jonathan Tropper’s for Warner Bros. and to join Seth Rogen and Zac Efron in Universal’s .

In , Jason Bateman leads a cast that includes Tina Fey, Jane Fonda, Kathryn Hahn and Corey Stoll. It centers on a man (Bateman) whose father dies and tasks his dysfunctional family of four grown siblings with one last request: to spend seven days after the funeral together under the same roof for first time in a decade.

Byrne will play the movie’s romantic lead, an old crush of Bateman’s character who happens to be a former wild child.

is Universal’s raunchy and sure-to-be-R-rated comedy that Nick Stoller is directing from a script written by Andrew Cohen and Brendan O’Brien. It follows a regular guy (Rogen) who lives near an alpha male frat, led by Efron’s character, and whose behavior wreaks havoc on Rogen’s home life.
