Magnet Releasing has picked up North American distribution rights to the writer/director Jacob Vaughan’s comedy/horror film , which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival.
The movie, which will be released later this year, stars Ken Marino as a man with a murderous demon living in his intestines. The cast also includes Gillian Jacobs, Patrick Warbuton, Mary Kay Place and Stephen Root.

features puppetry by Frank Langley and Bob Mano. The film was produced by Adele Romanski with New Artists Alliance’s Gabriel Cowan and John Suits. Executive producers include Mark and Jay Duplass, John Norris, Kerry Johnson, Dallas Sonnier, Jack Heller and Floren Shieh Productions’ Clay Floren and Aimee Shieh.
“Just like Ken Marino, our stomachs were hurting watching Milo, happily because of laughter rather than an intestinal demon,” said Eamonn Bowles, present of Magnolia Pictures, which includes the genre released arm Magnet.
The deal, which closed March 15 as the fest was concluding, was negotiated by Magnolia/Magnet SVP of acquisitions Dori Begley and director of acquisitions Peter van Steemburg with ICM Partners, which repped the filmmakers and producers
