Cinedigm has picked up North American distribution rights to , a 3D thriller starring Milo Ventimiglia (, ), Sarah Shahi () and Sara Paxton().
STORY: Magnet Picks Up Horror/Comedy ‘Milo,’ About a Murderous Demon
The feature, directed by Todd Levin and written by Levin, Gabriel Cowan, John Suits and Andrew Orci, follows a young couple, played by Ventimiglia and Shahi, whose marriage is crumbling after the loss of a child. But their lives change forever when a young woman arrives at their door, claiming masked intruders are stalking her. Her arrival brings "supernatural implications."
Static was produced by Orci, working alongside Cowan and Suits of New Artists Alliance, the indie studio behind two sales at the 2013 South by Southwest film festival: , winner of the Midnighters audience award, which was snapped up for domestic distribution by Draft House Films; and demon horror comedy , which sold to Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia.

, which did not screen at SXSW, is one of the first low-budget features to be shot in full 3D. Levin designed a special camera rig that held two Sony PWM-F3 cameras to achieve the 3D effect, keeping the film’s costs below a reported $1 million.
Its executive producers include Dallas Sonnier and Jack Heller of Caliber Media Co., along with Kerry Johnson, Ventimiglia and his DiVide Pictures producing partner, Russ Cundiff.
